French River Fishing

Pickerel or Walleye, whatever you choose to call them they are the favorite for a fish fry on the river.

The French River has a strong Pickerel population.  Although overfishing caused a decline in the population in the 1970s and 80s, recent analysis by the MNR has shown that thanks to tighter regulations and the efforts of the Wolseley Bay Walleye Club, the Pickerel population on the upper French River has made a strong comeback.
